THE KNOWLEDGE SHOP LOS ANGELES

PROJECT BRIEF
The Knowledge Shop Los Angeles stands at the intersection of community advocacy, academic excellence, and systemic educational reform.

Founded to bridge equity gaps and champion parent-led education, TKSLA serves as a grassroots engine for Black youth, parents, and community leaders throughout Southern California.

My role was to build a design framework that reflected an academic catalyst and an authentic, grassroots movement. The identity needed to honor the organization’s lineage of activism evidenced throughout flagship initiatives like Facts Bet On Me and Black Kids Love Math. Crafted to signify stability, refuge, and familial warmth, reassuring families they had found a space of mutual protection and unconditional belonging.

The brand kit embodies the concept of a storefront, a local hub where community knowledge is built, exchanged, and applied. The graphic system pairs structured, typography with interlocking geometric forms, symbolizing the intersection of parents, educators, and families.
